City officials, Nationwide representatives, family, and friends gathered at 8 Macon Street on July 30th to celebrate the opening of the new Nationwide Insurance office of partners Eddie Ausband and Ernie Kearns on the McDonough Square with a ribbon cutting conducted by the Main Street McDonough Program.

This is the second location for both agents, and together, they offer 53 years of insurance knowledge and experience. Mr. Ausband and Mr. Kearns are eager to assist with any auto, home, business, and life insurance needs. “We love being in McDonough,” said Mr. Ausband. “My family goes back eight generations in McDonough. We’re here to serve the needs of the community.”

Assisted by his son Tripp, Mr. Ausband (Holding the Scissors), with partner Ernie Kearns on his right, cut the ceremonial red ribbon marking the official opening of this location. Mr. Kearns stated how pleased he is with this new McDonough location.

City officials in attendance included Mayor Billy Copeland (Back Row, Center), his wife Gloria Copeland (On the Mayor’s left), and Councilmember Wayne Smith (Front Row, Fourth from Left). Mayor Copeland told a little history of the building housing the new insurance office and expressed how happy he was to have them here in McDonough. Main Street Director Linda Schenk (Front Row, Right) also welcomed the new business to the Square.

This office is open 8:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays by appointment only. The Nationwide office can be reached at 678-814-4900. Mr. Ausband noted, “We have a saying in this office, ‘We’re on the Square and On Your Side’.”
