Councilmember Kamali (Kam) Varner was born and raised in the City of McDonough and is on her second term as a member of the McDonough City Council. Councilwoman Varner is an extremely hard worker, who tirelessly and without question puts the needs of the community first.
As a home grown City of McDonough graduate of Henry County High School, and a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church of McDonough, she served in her first leadership role as president of her Youth ministry under the esteemed leadership of Rev. Dr. Edward Lee.
In 2012 and 2013 Councilwoman Varner was recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association for her leadership ability and in 2015 she earned the coveted ranks of Robert E. Know Jr. Leadership graduate.
Councilwoman Varner holds a degree in Organizational Leadership and has served as Henry County Middle School’s 2014-15 PTO President, as well as being a member of the McDonough Main Street Program.
The McDonough Youth Advisory Council which is the first municipal advisory council in Henry County was founded by Councilwoman Varner in an effort to engage and harness the visionary talents of young people preparing them for their leadership roles.Term:
