The City of McDonough is accepting applications for a full-time certified Police
Officer. Duties include routine patrol work, law enforcement, and responding to
emergency calls, citizen complaints and alarms. Requires independent judgment and
discretion in difficult or unusual situations. Applicant must be Georgia P.O.S.T. certified
and have thorough knowledge of criminal justice system and local, state and federal laws.
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, exercise sound
judgment and be able to resolve conflicts professionally.
Minimum requirements: completion of High School Diploma or GED; twenty-one years
of age; pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen test and extensive background
investigation; possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license (Class C); have a
satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; Georgia P.O.S.T. certified.
