GOVERNOR'S EMERGENCY ORDER, EFFECTIVE APRIL 3, 2020, AND EXPIRING APRIL 13, 2020 - EXPLANATION IS ATTACHED TO THE ORDER

                                               APRIL 5, 2020 PROCLAIMED AS DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING

  • All water cut-offs are suspended until further notice
  • The $5.00 fee charge for electronic water payments will be credited back to each account
  • All City government buildings remain closed to the public until further notice
  • If your phone call isn’t answered promptly, please leave a message and your call will be returned
  • There will be no cut-offs in the month of April and no late fees will be charged in April for commercial and residential customers.
  • All City parks and restrooms are closed until further notice.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to preserve and protect the natural and built environments, promote a balanced economy in the City of McDonough by the use of best planning and development practices and the responsible enforcement of ordinances and regulations, and provide professional and efficient customer service.

Summary of Operations
The Community Development Department is responsible for working with the citizens inside the City limits of McDonough and the development community, Boards and Commissions, and the elected officials while managing current and long-range planning, code enforcement, economic development, business registration, and other activities in support of the Department's mission.
