The City of McDonough Building Department performs a wide range of services for citizens and future citizens of the city. These services are broken down into three categories.
- Permitting: The City’s permit technicians are charged with customer service needs from the submittal of your application to the issuance of your permit to certificates of occupancy.
- Inspections: The City employs four inspectors that are charged with ensuring that all construction in the city complies with city codes. The inspectors also participate in plan reviews and institute corrective actions for violations. Inspectors are also responsible for Soil and Erosion control and to ensure all environmental services are in compliance.
- Code Enforcement: The City’s Code Enforcement officer responds to citizen’s complaints of all code violations. Warnings and citations are issued as required. The City’s Code Enforcement officer is a certified Police officer with years of experience.
