C.O Polk Building Interactive Museum Project

The City of McDonough, Georgia is requesting Competitive Sealed Proposals from experienced firms with verifiable experience for construction services to refurbish the C.O. Polk Interactive Museum Building. This Project includes demolition, the repair/renovation of carpentry, woodwork, insulation, door openings, glazing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, wood flooring and painting.


Bid proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, in the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 136 Keys Ferry Street, McDonough, Georgia 30253. One original and two duplicate copies of the proposal must be submitted prior to the bid time. Timely received proposals will be opened at that time in the Second Floor Conference Room, adjacent to the City Clerk’s office. Any proposal received after this time will be rejected and will not be opened.


There will be a Mandatory Pre-Proposal meeting on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 1:00 PM at the Polk Building located at 34 John Frank Ward Blvd. in McDonough.   Any interested bidder may pick up a “Flash drive” from the Public Works Director, Ronnie Thompson, at City Hall with all of the building plans and specifications.  On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, and on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 1:00 PM the Public Works Director will be at the Polk Building for anyone interested to look at the building and/or ask questions.  All questions must be received by 5:00 PM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in order to be given a response.


The City reserves the right to reject any/or all proposals, to waive technicalities and informalities, to reject portions of the proposals, and to award a contract in a manner consistent with the best interest of the City of McDonough and the laws of the State of Georgia.
