How to Apply for Employment with the City of McDonough
1. The City has three different applications. Choose the correct application to complete depending on the position for which you are applying. 2. Applications also can be picked up at City Hall, 136 Keys Ferry Street, McDonough, Georgia.

3. All General and Fire applications are to be submitted to City Hall, 136 Keys Ferry Street, McDonough, Georgia, or scanned and e-mailed to ctuck@mcdonoughga.org, unless the job announcement instructs differently. All Police applications are to be submitted to the Police Department at 50 Lawrenceville Street, McDonough, GA.

Applications are accepted only when a position is posted.

What happens after I file my application?

Applications are reviewed by the hiring department and a decision will be made on which applications move forward to the interview process. The length of the screening process varies depending on the volume of applications received for the particular job posting. JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

 Crime Scene Technician

The City of McDonough is accepting applications for a full-time Crime Scene Technician.  Under direct supervision, this position performs entry-level to moderately complex technical duties in the evidence processing and investigation of crime scenes. Employees in this class are responsible for evidence processing, chain of custody and related scene investigation activities. Required to report to crime scenes to support the unit’s objectives and the department’s initiatives in gathering, assembling, analyzing and interpreting evidence and in preparing and documenting investigative activities, as well as maintaining the Agency’s evidence room.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent; State of Georgia Crime Scene Technician Certification; valid Georgia Driver’s License; satisfactory MVR; acceptable background investigation; successfully pass employment physical and drug and alcohol screen; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certified State of Georgia Crime Scene Technician preferred.

Starting salary:  $16.59 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)
