How to Apply for Employment with the City of McDonough
1. The City has three different applications. Choose the correct application to complete depending on the position for which you are applying. 2. Applications also can be picked up at City Hall, 136 Keys Ferry Street, McDonough, Georgia.

3. All General and Fire applications are to be submitted to City Hall, 136 Keys Ferry Street, McDonough, Georgia, or scanned and e-mailed to ctuck@mcdonoughga.org, unless the job announcement instructs differently. All Police applications are to be submitted to the Police Department at 50 Lawrenceville Street, McDonough, GA.

Applications are accepted only when a position is posted.

What happens after I file my application?

Applications are reviewed by the hiring department and a decision will be made on which applications move forward to the interview process. The length of the screening process varies depending on the volume of applications received for the particular job posting. Court Bailiff

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 

 Court Bailiff 

The City of McDonough is accepting applications for a part-time Bailiff in the City’s Court Department.  Primary responsibilities include court security by protecting the judge and court personnel, controlling inmates, and providing physical security for the court.

Major duties:  Security of the court; conducting search of courtroom before court for weapons and contraband; inspect packages and persons coming into the courtroom; announcement of the opening and closing of Municipal Court; summon officers and witnesses to testify; provide assistance during any emergency; maintain custody of and escort/transfer prisoner(s). 

Qualifications:  must have high school diploma or equivalent; at least twenty-one (21) years of age; P.O.S.T certification; taser certified or ability to become taser certified; some court experience helpful; valid Georgia Driver’s License; clean MVR; pass post-offer of employment physical and drug screen; satisfactory criminal history; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Part-time hours: approximately 10-20 hours per week;

Salary: $18.31 per hour

This position does not receive benefits.
