The City Council Meetings scheduled for May 18, 2020, and for June 4, 2020, have been cancelled due to Gov. Kemp’s April 30, 2020, Executive Order to extend the “Public Health State of Emergency” until June 12, 2020.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

City Hall and other government buildings will open to the public on June 1, 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 PM. Employees will report at their regular scheduled time.  Beginning next week, a mask will be required and your temperature taken to enter a government building in the City.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Come out to celebrate 2 days of St. Patrick’s Day in McDonough with shamrocks and other shenanigans in Historic Downtown McDonough!!  Presented by Main Street McDonough and in partnership with the Downtown Merchants. Celebration will begin Saturday and continue thru Sunday around the Square.  Features cold brews, traditional Irish food and drinks at different  Merchant locations, competitions, and an outdoor stage packed with performers. A family-friendly environment includes inflatables and corn hold games, face painting, a leprechaun costume contest and a scavenger hunt! Come earlier and enjoy breakfast or lunch. The fun starts at 2 pm on Saturday, offering plenty of time to shop goodies from the stores around the Square, while enjoying live entertainment from a variety of bands playing on the Square and at different Venues. You'll find fun activities for the whole family at St. Patrick’s Day celebration on the McDonough Square!!
