August Music on the Square Rocks the Square

A local band, The Peeled Onions, had the McDonough Square and the large crowd gathered rocking on August 21st as the Main Street McDonough Program hosted its August Music on the Square.

Band members, Johnny Hamby from Covington, Mark Dobson from McDonough, and Breck Armstrong from Conyers entertained with many of the crowd’s favorites from yesteryear. Drummer, Mark Dobson, is also a City of McDonough employee.

Not only did the adults enjoy the music, but so did about 30 youngsters in attendance that gathered on the lawn in front of the band and put some major moves on to the beat of this talented 3-member band. How did they get the name, The Peeled Onions? Drummer Mark Dobson’s father use to tell him the tires on his [Mark’s] car were…“as slick as peeled onions.”

Main Street will feature the Infinity Show Band for the September 18th Music on the Square from 7-10pm. Bring a chair, pick up some food at a local restaurant, and come enjoy the free entertainment that’s always family friendly. For more information call 770-898-9868.
