2012 Georgia Cities Week -
Come Celebrate McDonough
The Georgia Municipal Association’s 2012 Georgia Cities Week is April 22-28. The City of McDonough will celebrate three days during that week on the Square--Wednesday, April 25 through Friday, April 27--with a different department featured in the Square park each afternoon between Noon-4:00 p.m. Included will be displays, educational materials, staff from the day's featured department to talk with, and of course, free food and lots of fun.
On day four, Saturday, April 28, the fun shifts to Rufus Stewart Park for the morning cleanup of a designated area close to the park from 8-11:00 am. Volunteers will be leaving from the park for the three hours of community service and returning to the park for their reward. Volunteers will be provided with a free lunch, music by a DJ, and lots of fun following the cleanup effort. Saturday’s activities will end at 3:00 pm.
Stop by the Square Wednesday through Friday, Noon-4pm, and get to know your city better. Citizens are then encouraged to head to Rufus Stewart Park on Saturday morning by 8:00am to volunteer for the community service clean-up effort, 8-11:00am, followed by free food and lots of fun for volunteers as we celebrate the beautiful and historic City of McDonough, Georgia during Georgia Cities Week 2012!
