Kindergartners Visit
McDonough City Hall

Ms. Vickie Miles and Alicia Petry, Kindergarten teachers at McDonough Methodist Academy, believe it’s never too early to introduce students to their city and its government or to start developing an appreciation for the dedication and commitment of city officials and staff.

On April 14th, some very young and inquisitive kindergartners, students of Ms. Miles and Ms. Petry, stopped by McDonough City Hall for a tour and a chat with their Mayor. Upon arrival, the group was lead to the Council Chamber on the second floor where they were joined by Mayor Billy Copeland for a few travel stores, shared laughter and even questions for the Mayor from his youthful audience.

City Clerk Janis Price followed Mayor Copeland and discussed her responsibilities and the different city services including providing clean water to their school and individual homes.

The day’s activities included not only a tour of City Hall but a visit to the McDonough Fire and Police Departments as well.

Group tours may be arranged by calling City Hall at 770-957-3915.
