Had the Square Hopping
On Friday, April 6, the Main Street McDonough Program hosted an exciting afternoon of activities on the McDonough Square and even welcomed a few well-known guests, the Easter Bunny and Mr. and Ms. Mouse.
A line of parents, holding on to energized youngsters, waited to meet Easter’s most famous fan, the Easter Bunny, of course, and have mom or dad take their picture with the lovable, fuzzy bunny.
This year’s event was held from 2-4:00 p.m. and also included a cotton candy stand and a drawing for 12 Easter baskets which made Easter even better for 12 lucky winners. The Easter baskets, full of goodies, were also provided by the Main Street McDonough Program for Easter on the Square. The 2 guest mice, compliments of Party Time located on the Square, took turns drawing the 12 names and helped Main Street Director Linda Schenk pass out the colorful baskets to the very happy winners.
Main Street Director Linda Schenk estimated the number attending the event to be close to 300.

Haley Burel, 3 year old daughter of Amber Cox and Brandon Burel of McDonough,
poses with her new Easter basket. She is one of the lucky youngsters
whose ticket number was drawn during Main Street’s Easter on the Square.

One year old Marc Cotton, son of Mark and Shanu Cotton of Stockbridge,
picks up his cap ready to move to something else after repeated
efforts to get the bean bags in the holes while playing bean bag toss.

Ms. Mouse and Mr. Mouse wait for the next child to claim one of the prize
Easter baskets as Main Street Director Linda Schenk calls out the winning ticket number.

The Easter Bunny greets another youngster in line for photos with a wave and a big smile.
