City Implements New Schedule
of Permit Fees

Much time and effort have gone into assessing the City of McDonough’s permit fees which have been maintained at their current levels for more than 10 years. However, January 19, 2011, marked the implementation of the results of those assessments and the introduction of a new Schedule of Permit Fees for the City.

“It’s important to periodically revise the fee schedule in order to more accurately reflect the City’s true business costs for servicing its various permits and applications,” said Community Development Director Kathleen Fields. She added, “At the same time, however, we also need to recognize that these fees cannot be so high as to be non-competitive with other communities which could result in a potential loss of new businesses and development. I believe that the new fees accomplish the intent of both of these goals.”

Being able to continue providing quality services to the citizens of McDonough such as fire and police, water and sewer, street improvements and repairs, along with other programs and events are of upmost importance. For a full schedule of fee changes, visit www.mcdonoughga.org.
