01-31-11 Main Street McDonough Program presents Façade Grant Check to Sadie Mac’s

Main Street McDonough Program presents
Façade Grant Check to Sadie Mac’s

The Main Street McDonough Program presented a façade grant reimbursement check to Sadie Mac’s owner Christy Hayes. This colorful shop is located at 2 Macon Street, Suite H, Clay Plaza.

Main Street Director Linda Schenk described the young enthusiastic owner as the cheerleader of Macon Street. Ms. Hayes stated that if she doesn’t have something a customer is looking for, she encourages them to go to another local business. Director Schenk said that is exactly the kind of attitude everyone should always exhibit. It helps everyone doing business in downtown. “People are not going to come downtown for one store,” stated Ms. Hayes. “The more opportunities and places to shop, the more people will come to the Square to do just that.”

McDonough Mayor Billy Copeland expressed how glad he and Main Street were to be able to present her with a check. The Mayor further stated that Ms. Hayes was doing her part to keep downtown McDonough active and with a smile, he ended by saying, “That’s just cool.”

The Façade Grant Improvement Program is a reimbursement grant offered to businesses and commercial property owners located within the Main Street District. Through this program, applicants may be reimbursed up to 50% of the cost of improved renovations not to exceed a maximum amount of $1000 for an exterior front and $500 for an exterior rear renovation per applicant. Recipients must be in business a minimum of six months before receiving a façade grant reimbursement check. Funds are provided by the Main Street McDonough Program, and reimbursements are based on availability of funds.

Sadie Mac’s is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am-5:00 pm. Make reservations for your princess and her friends to have a tea party in the tea room at Sadie Mac’s. For more information or to reserve the tea room, call 770-898-0100. Visit this unique shop’s website at www.sadiemacs.com.
