Accepting Pawnbroker Applications

The City of McDonough is now accepting applications for a license to operate a business as a pawnbroker and/or dealer in precious metals and gems.  There is one (1) new license available. 

The deadline to apply is Monday, March 12, 2012

Please be advised that if more than one (1) application is received, a lottery will be held to determine the order in which applications will be processed. The new license will be issued to the eligible applicant who is in position number one on the lottery–generated list.

City Hall.McDonough was established in 1823 and is the county seat of Henry County. This picturesque city is a center for activities and the arts.

McDonough is a National Main Street City and City of Character and has a 1920's prototype Service Station as a Welcome Center located on the Square which is the headquarters of both Main Street McDonough and McDonough Hospitality and Tourism. The city is also home of the annual AABC Roberto Clemente World Series for 7 and 8 year olds.

McDonough is truly a great place to live, work, shop, worship and play. It possesses all the charm of a small southern town while offering the latest in modern technology.

McDonough is centrally located in the heart of Henry County 25 miles south of Atlanta and only 20 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
